Computer Woes [Update]

So now I have everything working. Windows 98 Second Edition using the wireless card and no yellow question marks in the Device Manager due to a BIOS update (rev 6 to rev 21). The DVD firmware has been updated from 1026 to 1426 but the drive is still not reading DVDs. I checked in all three operating systems but no luck in either of them. WinXP shows I still have two region changes left with the current region set to None Specified. I don't know if this is of any influence with regards to the problem.

Edubuntu 5.10 is installed (I had to install it twice due to a drive DMA failure during the first install which prevent X-windows to run) and WinXP is still humming away. The only things left to do is to get the wireless to work under Edubuntu and to get the darn DVD drive to work under (at least) Win98. Maybe I just have to buy a new one for cheap.
